10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Pacific
Please join FEMA Region 2 in partnership with and the National CERT Association (NCA) and California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) for a webinar about Field Command, EOC Activation, and the Management of Multiple Volunteer Groups Simultaneously.
The first day of a major incident can be oh so complicated, with fingers crossed, and the hope that it all unfolds in an organized way - according to some really good plan out there. Sometimes it does; but chaos, with nobody at fault, is the norm. After all, they’re called disasters for a reason.
The day of the week and the time of day have a huge influence on how we respond. Whether the incident is a surprise, or was seen coming, is also big. In this presentation, we will talk about Incident Command and/ or Unified Command in the field - somehow triggering a local government response, and how CERT volunteers, along with a lot of other organized volunteers, fit in. We’ll ask a lot of questions and with luck, we’ll even answer a few.
Who should attend: Local, State, Federal government, Community and Faith-based Organizations, Emergency Managers, CERT Leads, Program Managers and volunteers.
This event will include Live Captioning. If you need additional accommodations, please email kathleen.madigan@fema.dhs.gov.
