This event is posted to create awareness of CERT Train-the-Trainer course available through EMI.***\nCourse Description\nThis course prepares participants to deliver FEMA's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training course. This Train-the-Trainer course focuses on preparing instructors to:\n\n	Deliver CERT Basic Training.\n	Convey the messages and intent of the CERT program (e.g., safety, teamwork, place in overall community Emergency Operations Plan).\n	Assure that participants achieve the objectives of CERT Basic Training.\n	Create a comfortable yet managed learning environment.\n\nCourse topics include:\n\n\n	CERT history, program purpose, and values.\n	Materials and requirements for the CERT Basic Training course.\n	Roles of the CERT instructor.\n	Effective presentation of CERT Basic Training content.\n	Effective coaching and demonstration of skills in the classroom.\n	Practices to maximize learning.\n	Effective evaluation of CERT training participants.\n\nThe learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU.\n\nSelection Criteria: Individuals who will serve as the Course Manager for the CERT Basic Training course and be CERT Basic Training course instructors.\n\n \n\Details:\nSchedule\n\n	Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for two weeks (6 days)\n	Times: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (EST)\n\n\nPrerequisites\n\n\n	A referral from a CERT-sponsoring agency, typically a local, regional, or state government agency. \n	If you are not a first responder, the CERT Basic Training is required.\n	For current first responders, the CERT Basic Training or IS 317: Introduction to CERT is required. \n	Approval from the state CERT coordinating agency if that agency sponsors the CERT T-T-T Course.\n\n\n\nEnrollment for EMI Courses\nParticipants can apply to EMI courses any time up to 6 weeks before the start of the course. For participants who apply early, acceptance letters will be sent 8 weeks prior to the start of the course.
