This event is posted to create awareness of CERT Program Manager course available through EMI.***\nCourse Description\nThis course prepares participants to establish and sustain an active local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. The responsibilities of a local CERT Program Manager are various. This course defines the core components of a local CERT program and focuses on effective practices for:\n\n	Planning and interacting with a broad range of stakeholders;\n	Managing program resources;\n	Sustaining the program course topics, including:\n	Developing local CERT program goals and a related strategic plan;\n	Promoting a local CERT program;\n	Orienting, managing, and retaining CERT members;\n	Recruiting, funding, managing, and retaining CERT trainers;\n	Acquiring and managing program resources;\n	Delivering and managing effective training and exercises;\n	Developing policies and procedures for operating a local CERT program; and\n	Evaluating and sustaining the program..\n\nCourse Objectives include:\n\n\n	Define the purpose and core components of a local CERT program.\n	Use strategic planning to define the mission and goals for a local CERT program.\n	Describe the purposes and strategies for promoting a local CERT program.\n	Establish a process for working with volunteers.\n	Establish a process for working with instructors.\n	Establish a process for acquiring and managing program resources.\n	Build a plan for delivering and managing safe training and exercises.\n	Describe the role of policies and procedures in operating a local CERT program.\n	Develop a process for evaluating a local CERT program.\n	Describe how to sustain a local CERT program. \n\nThe learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU.\n\nSelection Criteria: Individuals who will serve as the Course Manager for the CERT Basic Training course and be CERT Basic Training course instructors.\n\n \n\Details:\nSchedule\n\n	Days: Tuesday - Friday\n	Times: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (EST)\n\n\nPrerequisites\n\n\n	A referral from a CERT-sponsoring agency, typically a local, regional, or state government agency. \n	If you are not a first responder, the CERT Basic Training is required.\n	For current first responders, the CERT Basic Training or IS 317: Introduction to CERT is required. \n	Approval from the state CERT coordinating agency if that agency sponsors the CERT T-T-T Course.\n\n\n\nEnrollment for EMI Courses\nParticipants can apply to EMI courses any time up to 6 weeks before the start of the course. For participants who apply early, acceptance letters will be sent 8 weeks prior to the start of the course.
